In Tokyo World Language Academy, all students are supposed to take a placement test before the class to make them start from a course of their appropriate level (beginning/intermediate/advanced).

中級コース	6 months	日本文化理解の促進・意思表現の確立	The reading and writing of 1,000 kanjis, the understanding of sentences with around 600 intermediate vocabularies, intermediate grammar, sentence structure, and the practice for the composition of the long sentence.
上級コース	1 year	The learning of advanced Japanese expression: communicating one’s intention correctly, and the learning according to the course of the entrance for a university and a vocational school.	reading and writing sentences with 2,000 kanjis and around 10,000 vocabularies to be able to figure out a newspaper and a magazine, understanding of the practical use of a literary style, a colloquial style, honorific style, the advanced grammar, sentence structure, and making a short essay.

In addition to the above, a class of the general subject, mathematics, and physics for a student desiring to proceed a higher school is supposed to be done after school once a week.

The summary of each course

The entrance to school in January ( The course for 1 year and 3 months )	Students start from the beginner’s class and aim at the success in the 2nd or 1st grade of Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
The entrance to school in April (The course for 1 year)	Students start from the basic Japanese and aim at the success in the 2nd grade of Japanese Language Proficiency Test. They are to be able to make daily Japanese conversation.
The entrance to school in July (The course for 1 year and 9 months)	Students start from the basic Japanese and aim at the success in 1st grade of Japanese Language Proficiency Test or the entrance into a university.
The entrance to school in October (The course for 1 year and 6 months)	Students start from the way to write and pronounce hiragana and katakana. They are to be able to improve the skill to express one’s will adequately through the practice of the comprehension and the listening. In addition, They aim at the success in the 1st grade of Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
The entrance to school in April (The course for 2 years)	Students start from the way to write and pronounce hiragana and katakana. They aim at the success in the 2nd grade of Japanese Language Proficiency Test in the 1st year and 1st grade in the next year.
A short-term course (It is possible to enter in every four months: January, April, July, October)	In principle, students are admitted the entrance for 3 months from April or October. They are to gain lots of experience through this 3 months.
